Embroidery software for Brother
Embroidery digitizing software for Brother machines.
Qepe writes the PES your Brother PR reads, with each thread’s maker, number and name, sized for the Brother hoops and the fields Brother publishes. It checks the design against the artwork and reads the file back before it saves it, on a Mac or a Windows PC. For older Brother machines and cards it writes PEC.

Set Qepe up for your Brother
Choose Brother
Click the machine chip in the top bar and pick Brother. From then on Qepe writes PES, counts 10 needles and offers the hoops above.
Let Qepe pick the hoop
With no hoop chosen, Qepe picks the smallest that takes the design, or offers a 90° turn. A design larger than every hoop is split into hoopings, each its own file.
Export PES
Qepe writes the file, reads it back and compares every needle point with the screen. A file that doesn’t match is never saved.
- Qepe knows the PR1055X (10 needles) and the PR670E (6 needles), each with its own hoops.
- The PR1055X reads DST too: set the jump codes it trims at (1 to 8, 3 when bought) and the same under Trim in Qepe.
Questions
- Which file does a Brother embroidery machine read?
- PR multi-needle machines read PES, and DST too; older Brother machines and embroidery cards read PEC. Qepe writes all three.
- Will my Brother show the right thread colours?
- Yes, with PES: it keeps each thread’s maker, number and name. Choose your thread chart in Qepe and the file carries its numbers.
- Which Brother hoops does Qepe know?
- Seven for the PR family, each with the field Brother publishes: from 6 × 4 cm to 36 × 20 cm, a 30 × 10 cm border frame and a 13 × 6 cm cap frame.

Where the machine figures come from
The model, needles, field and hoops as each maker or its dealer publishes them, collected in Qepe’s machine profiles between 12 and 21 October 2026. Machine names only say which machines Qepe writes for.
