Embroidery software for Tajima

Embroidery digitizing software for Tajima machines.

Qepe turns a customer’s logo into the DST your Tajima reads, sized for the Tajima hoops it knows, with every trim written the way the machine’s Jump Convert cuts it. It checks the stitches against the artwork and reads the file back before it saves it, on a Mac or a Windows PC.

Set Qepe up for your Tajima

  1. Choose Tajima

Click the machine chip in the top bar and pick Tajima. From then on Qepe writes DST, counts 15 needles and offers the hoops above.

  2. Match the trims

Under Trim, set the number of jump codes your machine cuts at (Jump Convert), 3 until you change it. Qepe writes every trim that way, and the export says what to set.

  3. Let Qepe pick the hoop

With no hoop chosen, Qepe picks the smallest that takes the design, or offers a 90° turn. A design larger than every hoop is split into hoopings, each its own file.

  4. Export DST

Qepe writes the file, reads it back and compares every needle point with the screen. A file that doesn’t match is never saved.

  • Qepe also knows the TFMX-IIC, with 15 needles and hoops of its own.
  • TBF, Tajima’s other format, opens in Qepe but isn’t written: its needle table isn’t documented.
Which file does a Tajima embroidery machine read?
DST, Tajima’s stitch format. Qepe writes DST for a Tajima by default, and opens TBF files too.
How do I make my Tajima cut the trims in a DST?
Set Jump Convert on the machine to a number of jump codes, 1 to 9, and the same number under Trim in Qepe. Every trim is written as that many jump codes, so the machine cuts where Qepe trims.
Does Qepe know the Tajima hoops?
Fifteen of them: round from 9 to 30 cm, squares up to 36 × 36 cm, two large rectangles and two cap frames. Tajima publishes no embroidery fields for them, so Qepe estimates each as the frame less 10 mm and marks it ≈.
